A firm built on considered practice

Sai Kung was founded by practitioners who spent years inside complex organisations before turning that experience outward.

Why Sai Kung exists

The name comes from a place of depth and deliberate pace — qualities we bring into every client engagement. Sai Kung was established in Hong Kong by a team of advisors who had spent years working within finance, operations, and corporate strategy functions across Asia.

What they observed repeatedly was a gap between the volume of information produced inside organisations and the actual quality of decisions made from it. Reports were long, ownership was unclear, and the link between data and action had become loose. Corporate development teams were reactive rather than structured. Vendor relationships had proliferated beyond useful management.

The firm was founded to address that gap with care, precision, and a strong respect for the people who have to live inside these systems long after consultants have departed. Our work leaves things genuinely different, not just freshly documented.

Our Mission

To help leadership teams in Hong Kong make better decisions by improving the quality of information and the structures around it.

Our Values
  • Precision — We don't generalise. Every recommendation is rooted in the client's actual data.
  • Discretion — Our work involves sensitive material. Confidentiality is not a policy; it's a practice.
  • Durability — We design structures that teams can sustain independently, without ongoing dependency on us.
Our Base

Headquartered in Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong. We work with clients across the SAR and occasionally across the broader Asia-Pacific region for corporate development mandates.

How we work

Our approach is shaped by principles that were built through years of advisory work — not borrowed from a methodology library.

Client Confidentiality

All engagements are covered by non-disclosure agreements. Client data, financials, and internal processes are never shared externally.

Fixed Scope Delivery

Every engagement begins with a scoping document. Deliverables are defined and agreed before any work commences, avoiding scope drift.

Evidence-Led Analysis

We don't present views not supported by data. Every finding in our reports is traceable to a source within the client's own information environment.

Stakeholder Inclusion

We interview relevant stakeholders at each level, not just the commissioning executive. Recommendations grounded in organisational reality land better.

Implementation Handover

Deliverables include handover sessions with the internal team responsible for implementation, so recommendations are understood at a working level.

Regulatory Awareness

Our work is conducted with awareness of Hong Kong Companies Ordinance requirements and applicable SFC and HKEX guidelines where relevant.

Business consulting in Hong Kong, built on direct experience

Hong Kong's business environment rewards clarity and speed. Organisations operating across the SAR — whether in finance, property, trading, or professional services — face the same fundamental challenge: turning an abundance of internal data into actionable management intelligence.

Sai Kung focuses on three domains where that challenge is most acute. Management reporting that has grown without design. Corporate development activity that lacks structured frameworks. Vendor relationships that have multiplied past the point of efficient management.

Each practice area draws on deep knowledge of how Hong Kong organisations actually operate — the reporting cadences, the governance structures, the procurement customs — and applies that knowledge to produce recommendations that fit, rather than frameworks that need to be forced into place.
